Hi
Sorry to hijack thread just wanted to tell jungle I got my sleeve at bmi 33 but I do have pre diabetes. I'm in NZ and was lucky enough just to be able to ring the surgeon I wanted and ask for a consult. Bmi 39 is def suitable. Try self referral or try another doc. Don't give up!!!!

hi Disey

welcome to the forum. this place is really good for giving support when needed and for finding often some much well needed advice. It is also great for making you realise you arent alone in the world.

Believe it or not i too can remember struggling to get sips in at the very beginning. My advice is take each day as it comes. Before long the sip sip is all over and done with and you are back on real food. lol. Im now almost a year out from my sleeve and i cant believe how fast the time has flown. So trust me the liquid time and mushy puree time will soon be done with.

well wishes and once again welcome

Erin

Hi Kas,

So glad you spoke to me, as I feel pretty on my own. I am cooking the cauli and Cam soup now, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I will hae a look at the October forum like you said..............I think I am really going to benefit from this site and wished I had known about it preop.

I know what you mean about eating salads etc. I am looking forward to eating things I never liked before LOL. I did try some custard which i used to love, and it went down ok, but I felt a bit sick after so am going to give it a miss. I bought some skim milk and had some weetbix flakes with it warmed up this morning and that made me feel like I ate something. Once again thanks heaps Disey

Hi and welcome Disey!

I am also an October sleever, 2nd, so almost 3 weeks post op but there is I think 3 or 4 of us done exactly the same day as you!

Go to the sleevers monthly and October 2012 and you will find us all at the same stage as you!

I struggled with the liquid stage but im struggling with purée too! Lol, can't wait to get to at least mash but lets face it, I can't wait for salad! Lol

Keep sipping away, are you adding lemon juice or diet cordial to water? Water has a hard surface and those additives break it making it easier to drink!
